gas rebates make me a bit happier
While I’ll admit that I’d be far happier if gas went back down to $2/gallon, I’m willing to admit that gas rebates do make me a bit happier when I go through the painful process of filling up my gas tank every week. I used to drive more than I do now – heck, I drove far more in high school than I ever do now, yet the amount of money I spent on gas each month was a heck of a lot less. It probably makes a difference that I paid $1.30/gallon for gas back in high school when I first got my driver’s license, and now when I fill up I’m paying pretty close to $4/gallon when I go to the pump. So the fact that I now live in the city and don’t even have to commute still means I spend a lot on gas each month even though I don’t drive much.
