Linda Kelly doesn’t believe that driving a forklift truck for R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company is any different than any other job in the company. "You simply have to know what you’re doing and pay attention," she says.
She became a forklift operator three years ago after working ten years as a seasonal tobacco processing employee. She’s in good company as more than 90 per cent of all seasonal forklift operators at R. J. Reynolds are women.
She underwent extensive forklift training before getting her license, and now says it’s the best thing she ever did.
