Retail merchant account

Merchant accounts are accounts that you open with a bank which allow you to accept credit card payments from your customers. A Merchant account is required for retail transactions through a brick and mortar store and for internet transactions as well.

A retail merchant account is meant for your retail business and your physical store. It is an account opened with a processing bank that allows you to accept credit and debit card payments. The bank leases you certain equipment like a POS (point of sale) swipe terminal.

A retail merchant account provider should be selected only after due process and research. A number of factors such as price, reputation and customer service level should be taken into account before making your decision.
