Should I Register A New Company Or Just A Business Name?

If you are just starting a new business you may be wondering if you should register a new company or simply register a business name. And it is a question that you should put a lot of thought into.

Here are some points you may want to consider.

Firslty: Begin with the end in mind. What is the big picture for your new company? Do you want it to be a large company or a simple business that feeds you with enough money to get by on.

Do I want to attract investors. A company structure will be easier to attract investors then a business name.

The tax benefits. Will your company be better of with tax breaks offered by a company?

Do I plan on selling the company?

And what impression do I want to portray in the business arena. Will a company offer you greater exposure as a serious business?

So you want to ask yourself these questions and perhaps consult with your accountant or solicitor to make sure you are setting yourself up for success.
