The Difference Between MLM and Network Marketing

People often wonder what the difference is between MLM and network marketing. You often see the terms used interchangeably in the same context. Really, in practical usage, there is no difference between the two. Strictly speaking, MLM is a business model where you can recruit others and earn bonuses on several levels of downline activity. Network marketing is a broader term that includes MLM under its umbrella, but can also refer to other types of business that are not multilevel. At least, that’s what some purists think. The bottom line is that one means the other these days, and many people prefer “network marketing” as a more contemporary term.
