Wedding Photography Etiquette

Don’t get too carried away when posing for pictures on your sister’s wedding. Like everything else, there is a proper and appropriate way to follow for photographers in a wedding ceremony. A certain degree of decorum is expected. Photographers can’t just point and shoot. Many churches set rules and guidelines in wedding photography. Some churches ask that photographers steer clear of the altar. You might also want to put your camera in silent mode since some officiates find it disruptive and distracting. Often even flash photos are not permitted once the ceremony starts. Rules may vary by churches, minister and denomination but always be sure to ask ahead so you can set things accordingly. Likewise, you might want to let the couple know in case they have friends who plan to bring their own cameras as well.
