Adkins Diet – Does it Really Work?
The Adkins diet has been one of the most popular diets in the past ten years. Many people swear by this diet and consider it to be the best diet to lose weight quickly. The main thought process behind the Adkins Diet was and is to cut out the majority of carbohydrates you consume on a daily basis. The reasoning for this is because when broken down carbohydrates can cause you to gain weight if you are consuming to much on a daily basis. So obviously cutting down on them will help you lose weight. Here is the huge problem with this thought process. Carbohydrates are the main energy source for the body so when you cut them out you are really making your body run off of secondary sources for energy like fats, and proteins. The body cannot sustain this and you will indeed not be able to workout as effectively and you may even find yourself very tired throughout a normal day of work. With that said it is important you do not cut carbohydrates out of your diet completely.
