The best way to prepare for a background search is to be aware of the information that an employer or background check company might find.  Certain positions require a background check.  Ensure that the job summary indicates that a background check is required.  The background check is done via a Department of Justice LiveScan, conducted by the UCIPD.  The hiring department should include this wording when placing an unclassified advertisement: A criminal background check is required for employment.  The Purpose of a background check is to ensure that our children have a safe and positive experience, and to provide parents with peace of mind.  When applying for a position of employment or requesting to volunteer, an authorization form for the background check is to be completed.
