I have been watching the costs rise on almost everything on the market.  Of course, the cost of oil has a direct effect on many things we use every day, but it is amazing what effect it has on virtually every type of product there is.  It costs more to plant and harvest food, it costs more to prepare food for the market place and it costs more to transport food to the market.  As a result we pay more for food.  I hadn’t given much thought to oil related product prices until I needed trailer tires for our travel trailer.  They were way more than I had expected and therefore way more than I had budgeted.  I ended up having to put part of it on my credit card, adding to the already stretched household budget.
