My kids are smart, in fact most kids are smart. Teachers are doing a good job of getting the recycling, lessen your footprint, and do not smoke messages to their students. My daughter came home from school and wanted to discuss waste to energy solutions. She wanted to know what steps that we (mom and dad) had made to invest in her “ecological future.” I was pretty impressed until I started talking specifically about biomass gasification, at which point she said, “huh?” Needless to say, I was a little less impressed by what she was saying, because she had the rhetoric down pat, but she did not know the details. I still think that she is smart and that teachers have the right idea, but the information needs to be more than words, it needs to be understanding and action.
