A Rewarding Career in Finance

Being a part of the financial services industry is very fulfilling and career-rewarding.  I’ve talked with people who began their career as a financial novice but have grown to love this industry and made a name for themselves.

Ups and Downs

A financial planning career is a very lucrative one.  In the U.S. alone, some financial planners make as much as $100 an hour.  And people readily pay them to give sound advice on personal finances or business investments.

However, in order to be a qualified financial planner, you have to undergo a series of training / tests in order for your government to recognize you as a financial planner.  In the US, you have to earn a Certified Financial Planning Designation before you could legally practice your career.  In Australia, a financial planner has to undergo rigorous tests under PS146 regulations.

Is it Worth It?

Due to the financial crisis that hit the US, some people are questioning if being a financial planner is even worth it.  In my opinion, it still is.  A financial planner has the “power” to save people from deep financial troubles.  You are their guide.  Being a financial planner has deeper career fulfillment than mere financial rewards.
