Federal Firearms License and Gun Laws

For over 40 years now — with the passage of The Gun Control Act in 1968 — it has been part of the Federal gun laws that anyone wishing to engage in the business of manufacturing, dealing or selling firearms or ammunition must have a license in order to do so. There are a number of requirements for a person to get their Federal Firearms License (FFL for short) beginning with the age limit — you must be 21 before you can apply for the license. Additionally, you can not have a conviction that caused a stay in jail for longer than 1 year and must not currently be wanted by law enforcement officials, has not violated any current gun laws, has not lied on their FFL application and a location in which to conduct business.
