Fuerteventura – A Tropical Paradise
Fuerteventura enjoys in excess of four million visitors a year. One of the larger islands, and an all year round holiday destination, it is less developed than its Canary Island neighbours and is famed as a tropical paradise. It is possible to rent a car at Fuerteventura Airport and drive the car about the island’s nooks and crannies for miles and miles without an end in sight. The beaches too seem to stretch on forever. People who choose Fuerteventura for their summer holidays for this reason and are the types who enjoy a sense of space and solitude. A popular location, the island has an airport which is claimed to be the tenth largest of all Spain. Although cherished by holidaymakers for its incredible sunshine levels, with a climate that rivals Florida, surprisingly people don’t seem so keen to live here. I wonder why. In fact out of all the Canary Islands, Fuerteventura is the least populated.
